Vastint - 5 Year Anniversary Event Design by Rachel Wyld (Sarnico, IT), 2019.
Held at Villa Surre — also known as Villa Luigi Faccanoni — a landmark of early 20th-century architecture on Lake Iseo, the event celebrated Vastint’s five-year anniversary through a carefully choreographed spatial sequence.
The evening unfolded as a progression of atmospheres: from the aperitif on arrival, to a formal dinner in the villa’s main rooms, an outdoor performance in the garden, and finally a dessert buffet and fireworks viewed from the terrace overlooking the lake. A club area on the underground level hosted the afterparty, completing the narrative of the night.
Working alongside Rachel Wyld, I contributed to the spatial and material definition of the event design — from concept development to on-site coordination and detailing. The design sought to preserve the villa’s historic aura through subtle interventions, letting the architecture remain at the centre.
Light became the main compositional tool: warm interior tones contrasted with cooler outdoor illumination, distinguishing the atmospheres of each moment while maintaining a cohesive visual rhythm. Candles traced the pathways between rooms and guided guests through the various transitions of the evening.
Table settings embodied the same measured restraint — minimal compositions of concrete, dry branches, and candlelight softened the scale of the grand interiors while evoking a quiet sense of intimacy. In the underground club area, a mirrored Vastint logo on a dark wall reflected the vibrancy of the night, while plants subtly invaded the space, connecting nature and celebration.
The event embodied a design of discretion: one that amplifies rather than replaces, choreographing presence through light, movement, and memory.
