Elementario — Art Direction and Commission of Sara De Meo (Culetto). Padua, 2020

Conceived as a visual complement to the interiors of Casa Scrovegni, Elementario is a series of twenty-two acrylic works on paper created by Sara De Meo (Culetto) under the art direction of Riccardo Rizzetto.

The series draws inspiration from the illustrated tables of the elements still used at the University of Padua — devices designed to visualise the compositional relationships between substances and formulas. Transposed into the restaurant’s context, these tables become symbolic frameworks: playful constellations that organise and reflect the identity of the place itself.

Each work functions as an element in a broader molecular system — one that assembles the restaurant’s essence through wittiness, conviviality, and sensory pleasure. The pieces recall the chemistry of encounters and the alchemy of shared meals, evoking the joy and experimentation that emerge from everyday acts of gathering.

Through this collaboration, the visual language of science becomes a metaphor for the composition of atmosphere — where colour, form, and gesture echo the rhythm of conversation, the warmth of hospitality, and the layered identity of Casa Scrovegni.
